Project – Report – Historiography

The Project is a “Report” focusing on a specific country.
The assignment is comprised of two parts:
a paper (6 pages incl. title page and bibliography)
a PowerPoint presentation (12 slides incl. title slide and bibliographic slide; 2 illustrations and 1 map.
The completed project should include information relating to the selected country\’s economic, social, political and cultural issues. As noted on the course syllabus, this project addresses:
Historiography:
Identify and consider a range of resources in order to:
a) understand cultural differences
b) demonstrate knowledge of global issues
c) understand his or her own culture in a global context

The completed Project should clearly demonstrate (a), (b) and (c) as outlined above. 

This could be done, for example, by: 
(a) Identifying the differences within the country that is being researched, or between that country and another country / others
(b) Describing some of the most prevalent global issues that involve, have an impact on, or are influenced by the country being researched
(c) Identifying how one\’s own culture differs from that studied in the project  
The completed paper must include reference to (a minimum of) either 3 articles or one book source (biography or autobiography) and address the following:
1. The thesis of the book or each of the three articles.
2. The important points addressed by the author of the book or each of the three articles.
3. The evidence that the author of the book, or authors of the articles, presents in support of his / her argument.  
4. Your opinion of the book or three articles – the item\’s argument, conclusions, importance.

The completed PowerPoint should complement the paper – not reiterate the information in the paper.
